Frank Polanco continues his rehab and recovery from a September 24 stroke. After spending five weeks in Hendrick Medical Center, Frank moved on October 27 to Northern Oaks Living & Rehabilitation Center. Frank will stay here until he is able to better get around and care for himself.

Currently, he is still unable to walk and has very little movement of his right leg or arm. He, does, however, remain in good spirits and committed to his recovery. Frank loves visitors and would enjoy all those willing to sit and talk with him. Northern Oaks is located at 2722 Old Anson Road and he is in the facility farthest from the street in Room 403.

New Life is helping financially with Frank’s recovery, particularly medications and other needs not covered by Medicaid. On Sunday, October 29, New Life members gave over $800 to take care of Frank! Praise God for the genorosity and love New Life has for its members.

Polanco family death http://www.newlifeabilene.com/site/polanco_family_death/ The sister of New Lifer Frank Polanco passed away Wednesday, October 11. Frank Polanco’s sister, Oralia, passed away late Wednesday night. She has been in Hendrick Medical Center for several months battling cancer. She was Frank’s last living sister whom he hasn’t been able to visit since he had his stroke on September 24.

Visitation for her is Friday, October 13 at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel from 6-7 p.m and service is Saturday morning, October 14 at 10 a.m.

I’m sure Frank would appreciate your visits, especially during this time. He remains in Hendrick Rehab Center (1934 Hickory). His best visiting hours are between 4:00p-8:30p.

It would also say much to his brothers and nephews for some of us to attend visitation and/or funerals this weekend. Several of Frank’s brothers and his nephews live in Abilene and could use a church home like New Life.

Report from Vienna - August 2006 http://www.newlifeabilene.com/site/report_from_vienna_august_2006/ Stacia Barton, our missionary in Austria sends a report from Vienna Church of my heart of hearts! Each Sunday I think of you and I miss you. I wanted to say thanks first of all for the prayers I know you have prayed for me and the people of Vienna. I know that God has brought me here for a reason—and usually I see that reason by the end of each day. But that doesn’t stop me from thinking about you all and wonderful ways God is blessing you. In face in my kitchen I have a bullentin board that I posted the encouraging notes from you all—it is called me New Life Love Board. At least that is what I just named it. I hope school started again without a glitch and that everyone got back safe. Take care and know that you are all amazing! Thanks for supporting me! I love you! -Stacia Barton

Stacia also says she is starting her German classes this week and is looking for some extra support for Christmas gifts.
