Monday: 8:30 (New Life Time) Church Prayer Time at the Red House
Tuesday: 7-8:00 Tuesday Night Church for kids in the community
Wednesday: 7-8:00 Church Service
Every Other Thursday: 6:30 Book/ Movie Club (At Gary and Sandy Lowe’s House)- ask for more info.

Opportunities to Serve at New Life

We’ll have seven stations/booths/exhibits:
1. Teaching kids’ classes on Sunday Morning or Wednesday Night
2. Cleaning the building
3. Tuesday Learning Center
4. Giving kids rides to and from church
5. Mentor/ Be Mentored (both available for all age groups)
6. Teach the nursery on Sunday Mornings
7. Any other skills/gifts you have we want to utilize. Just tell us what you’re good at!

This past Sunday we had a fair to celebrate the opportunities there are to serve within our congregation. After the baptism of our sister Ashley Key the congregation split into several small groups and went to different “booths” (rooms) and played a game or watched a skit and were encouraged to sign up to help with different areas the church needed help with. These things include opportunities to teach children’s classes on Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, opportunities to mentor and be mentored by other people in the congregation, cleaning the building, picking up kids for Sunday morning church, and an “other” category encouraging people to volunteer other gifts and skills they have to contribute. This went really well, and many people volunteered to help in all of the areas. We are excited that we can come together to strengthen our community as we move boldly into the future.

It’s time again for the annual HAY DAY extravangza at Philip’s Farm just outside of Abilene.

Hay rides, great food, farm fun, and lots of surprises are always enjoyed at Hay Day.

Especially for our single and single-again neighbors, New Life Church is hosting a free Italian dinner for Valentine’s Day.

Those able to help should contact the church office or Katherine Strong.

We continue our Sunday morning sermon series on King David and a biblical application to our life today.

Stacia Barton, our missionary in Vienna, Austria, will be at our Sunday morning worship assembly on Sunday, February 4.

Stacia will share a report including many pictures and videos about her work over the past 8 months in Austria. It will be a great time to meet Stacia, visit and encourage her and hear about her important work.

This is the second opportunity for volunteers and members who work with children and youth to attend the mandatory training and complete applications in compliance with our Child Safety Policy.

An earlier opportunity is available on Tuesday, January 23 at 7:00 p.m.

New Life is now implementing our Child Safety Policy we have been working on for several years. This important policy is intended to keep our children and volunteers safe from abuse and litigation.

The policy includes mandatory training for all volunteers working with children or youth, criminal background checks, procedure guidelines, and application process.

Training opportunities are available on Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, January 27 at 10:30 a.m.

All members and volunteers working with children and youth are required to attend our training session and complete applications in compliance with the Child Safety Policy. This includes teachers and helpers for Tuesday night Learning Center, nursery, children’s church, Wednesday night Bible classes, and other programs that involve youth or children.

Training will be at 7:00 at New Life and follows training for volunteers involved with Tuesday night Learning Center (6-7 p.m.)

Another opportunity to attend training will be Saturday, January 27, 2007.

It’s time to celebrate New Life’s first ten years together in worship to our faithful God.

Our original event, scheduled for January 14 was cancelled due to safety/weather issues. The celebration continues on Sunday, January 14, 2007 at 11:00 a.m.

In the interest of safety as the water returns to ice, all classes have been cancelled at New Life for tonight, January 17, 2007.

In the interest of safety as the rain and snow returns to ice on the streets, we cancelled our evening gathering for Wednesday, January 17, 2007.
