Weather Cancellations - January 14, 2007
Weather and road conditions, forecasts lead to cancellation of Sunday’s Birthday Worship
On Friday we celebrated our Tenth Birthday with our Friends’ Dinner at the Abilene Civic Center. We had a great success, but missed some of you. Saturday morning we cancelled our Family Fun Day because of early morning travel concerns. Several dozen enjoyed goodies at our Open House Saturday evening.
A highlight to our celebration, of course, was our Birthday Worship Service for this morning, January 14, 2007. We believe it is in the best interest of our church family and out-of-town guests to significantly limit travel and have cancelled our services for today.
We will NOT meet at New Life today for morning or evening worship, adopt-a-block, fellowship time or meals.
The roads look only wet and in some places are not very slick, but many spots prove otherwise (and has resulted in slides and spins in the streets). The forecast calls for increased freezing weather today (80% current chance of precipitation) and for road conditions to worsen with temperatures remaining below freezing. The forecast does not look encouraging regarding the situation to improve.
It would be foolish for us to encourage your attendance at our birthday worship in these dangerous conditions that could worsen as we celebrate this milestone at New Life. For our out-of-town guests, we are glad you joined us this weekend for our other events and regret we are unable to worship together this morning.
